Land Integrity

  • All lands for the Rainyday Cashew Project are subject to verified due diligence, surveys, and documentation with Oyo State authorities.
  • Allocation is tied to acres under the SPV central management.

Ownership & SPV Structure

  • All parcels are held under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for risk isolation and proper management.
  • Investors receive a Deed of Sublease, Survey Plan and Allocation Letter upon full payment.

Returns & Yield Timeline

  • Cashew seedlings fruit from Year 3–4. Commercial returns begin from Year 5 at ~70% capacity.
  • Expected yield: ~₦1,000,000 per acre annually at full maturity, with 70% net returns to investors after management costs.
  • Trees have a 50 year lifespan, with replacement cycles taken into account.

Management Fee

  • Rainyday’s professional farm management team oversees planting, security, community relations, and processing.
  • Management fee: 30% of annual harvest value.

Payment Default

  • Defaults beyond agreed timelines may attract penalties or reallocation.
  • Refunds only considered if a new subscriber takes over the slot.
  • 30% will be deducted upon cancellation to cover for administrative expenses.

Resale & Transfer

  • We'll list the SPV on the NGX at a suitable time, giving access to more liquidity.
  • Investors may transfer or resell their farm rights to other members, and Rainyday Cooperative must be notified to update records and documentation.

  • Farming is subject to weather, pests, and market risks.
  • Rainyday will mitigate risks via expert partnerships (e.g., CRIN, UUBO, local agronomists) but does not guarantee fixed returns.

Community Engagement

Rainyday fosters strong relationships with local farmers and leaders, ensuring security and coexistence (e.g., early intercropping with cowpeas/soybean by locals in the first 3 years).

SCUML & AML Compliance

  • Rainyday Cooperative fully complies with SCUML and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
  • Subscribers affirm that funds used are from lawful sources and agree to provide verification documents (valid ID, proof of funds, etc.) when required.
  • The Cooperative may reject or terminate any subscription suspected of breaching AML laws.

Dispute Resolution

Disputes shall be resolved amicably. If unresolved, arbitration will be held by the Lagos State Cooperative Federation.

Cashew trees can remain productive for 50 years

Yes. In the first 3 years, farmers may intercrop with maize or soybean before the cashew canopy closes. Oil palm or other long-cycle crops are not allowed.

The farm is centrally and professionally managed by Rainyday Cooperative’s agricultural team. Investors can NOT self-manage.

As with all farming, risks include weather changes, pests, and market fluctuations. Rainyday Cooperative mitigates these with expert agronomists, crop insurance, strong community relations, and sustainable farm practices.

No, we prioritize uniformity and central management on the farm. Only specific crops planted by our community farmers are allowed.

Yes, you're allowed to structure your payments flexibly. As long as you complete the total payment within the agreed period (6 months or 12 months), you can pay whenever it's convenient for you. For example, you can pay 400,000 now and settle the remaining balance at the end of the period.
